Our Mission
We’re here to build the future of the Democratic Party. At the heart of our mission is our proven belief that with lower barriers to entry, we can reach an untapped cohort of new leaders ready to fight for change.
We’re dedicated to doing just that with resources, courses, live trainings, and guided programs that are both comprehensive and free to use. We’re not just envisioning a better future – we’re cementing one brick by brick. The leaders who will carry our party forward in 2026 and beyond are being trained right now, with us, for free.
Who We Are
NDTC is the largest Democratic campaign training organization in the nation. We’ve trained over 120,000 learners since our launch, with over 1,000 of them winning their elections just last year. NDTC learners accounted for 1 in 7 Democrats on the ballot in 2024, and our mission is still growing.
We don’t count any state, county, or district out. Where others stand by for blue waves in Republican strongholds and purple zones, we’re training candidates to flip those seats. The majority of our learners run in rural communities, and 63% of our winners come from red or battleground districts. We don’t wait for momentum to build; we ignite it.
And we know that the face of the Democratic Party must represent its base. 64% of our winners are women, 47% are people of color, and many constitute other underrepresented communities.

What We Do
Whether it’s our virtual live trainings, on-demand courses, guided learning plans, or downloadable worksheets, we’re chock full of resources every Democrat needs to win. We offer trainings on the hard skills campaigns need, like digital fundraising and field canvassing, and soft skills that make dynamic candidates, like crafting a personal story.
We’re accessible with virtual live trainings that let learners engage with our trainers and ask questions in real time, and through our self-paced courses and learning plans that learners can access at any time.
For those with an appetite for even more knowledge, we’ve got weekly newsletters, Substacks, and articles to equip learners with insider information and the latest party insights. We’re also active on social platforms to provide up-to-date news, meet learners where they are, and build community.
Our Story
In 2016, our Founder and CEO, Kelly Dietrich, started recording his tips for successful strategies after his 20 years of campaign experience and posting his video clips online. He knew there were Democrats across the country looking to get active in political leadership who were left behind without a place to start.
Since then, NDTC has transformed into over 100 courses and 250 resources that provide free, accessible training for Democrats running for any office in the country.
