Our Founder and CEO, Kelly Dietrich, launched NDTC in 2016 because he knew there were Democrats across the country who wanted to get active in political leadership but were left behind, without the resources or campaign training to start.
What started as short video clips posted online has transformed into over 100 free courses, 250 downloadable resources, and more than 128,000 Democrats served with accessible training at no cost.
But we can't do it alone. With our partners, we deepen the Democratic pipeline by lowering barriers to entry and training budding leaders with the campaign skills and organizational support they need to run for office, staff a campaign, or organize change at every level of government.
NDTC is proudly collaborative, not competitive, with Democratic organizations nationwide. We know it takes all of us working together to drive collective action, make meaningful change, and feed a healthy democracy.
That’s why we partner with state parties, recruitment organizations, labor unions, and progressive groups all over the nation. Every partnership opens a door to equip a subset of new leaders with the campaign training and political skills they need to succeed.

NDTC partnered with the DLCC to design and deliver caucus leadership training. We began with a pre-event member survey to pinpoint the most pressing campaign training needs, then built a customized program to address them — equipping state legislative leaders with the skills to run stronger caucuses and win more seats.
