Phone Bank Persuasion Script

Running a democratic phone bank takes more than a list of names and a stack of numbers. Volunteers need a clear, easy-to-follow guide that tells them exactly what to say and how to respond no matter what the voter on the other end throws at them. This Phone Bank Persuasion Script is part of NDTC's full Phone Banking Toolkit, a set of editable resources built to help campaigns run an effective phone banking for democrats program from day one. Add a shortcut to the toolkit in your Google Drive, or download each document individually, so your whole team is working from the same playbook. The script itself walks volunteers through a step-by-step approach to voter conversations: confirming the voter's information, gauging their interest in the election, and, when the moment is right, making the case for your candidate by tying the conversation back to the platform and the issues voters care about most. It also includes branching responses for the most common scenarios volunteers run into on the phones, whether the voter is undecided, already backing another candidate, or fully in your corner and just needs a reminder to show up.
